Ranjit Singh is a senior researcher with the AI on the Ground team at the Data & Society (D&S) research institute. His work explores the ordinary ethics of exercising human agency in navigating AI-driven systems. He develops robust methods to evaluate and regulate the impact of algorithms on everyday life and helps guide research ethics at D&S, fostering equity in collaborative research both internally and with external partners. His research sits at the intersection of AI infrastructures, majority-world scholarship, and public policy, using interview-based qualitative sociology and multi-sited ethnography.
