In an appearance on “TMZ Live,” Knight Institute Executive Director Jameel Jaffer said, Meta made the right decision to reinstate former President Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. “Not because Trump has the right to be on Facebook. He doesn’t. It’s a private platform. Meta can make whatever decisions it wants to about whether Trump is on or off, but I think it’s important that ordinary citizens have access to the speech of political leaders and political candidates. And, like it or not, Trump is a political leader and a political candidate, and I don’t like the idea of Meta or any other big social media company deciding which political candidates we hear from and which ones we don’t,” explained Jaffer.
