Nadine Farid Johnson, policy director of the Knight Institute, appeared on NewsNation this week to discuss the Institute’s concerns around a newly proposed federal TikTok ban. She emphasizes that a ban would not prevent other companies from continuing to collect information about Americans. Instead she urges Congress to pass a comprehensive data privacy law that would restrict access to Americans’ data and limit the information that data brokers could obtain on the open market.
