Removal of the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation
This opinion concludes that the statute providing a fixed term of office for the Director of the FBI does not preclude the president from removing the director before the expiration of that term. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored.
