Terms of Members of the Civil Rights Commission
The six-year term of a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights runs from the date on which his or her predecessor's term ends, not from the date of the member's appointment. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored. The original opinion is available at www.justice.gov/file/18801/download.
