GAO Access to Trade Secret Information

Section 301(j) of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938 prohibits the Food and Drug Administration from providing the General Accounting Office with access to trade secret information submitted by drug manufacturers to the FDA. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored.
