Assertion of Constitutionally Based Privilege Over Reagan Administration Records
It is legally permissible for President Bush to assert constitutionally based privilege in concurrence with former President Reagan's assertion of constitutionally based privilege over certain Reagan Administration documents that are otherwise required to be released by the National Archives and Records Administration under the Presidential Records Act. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored.
