Funds Available for Payment of Natural Resource Damages Under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990

The President, acting through the Department of Transportation, is authorized to use the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund to pay the claims of Natural Resource Trustees for uncompensated natural resource damages in accordance with section 1013 of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, without the need for further enactment of appropriations. The OLC does not provide release dates for its opinions, so the release date listed is the date on which the opinion was authored.
