Kevin Feng
Kevin Feng is a Ph.D. student in the Human Centered Design and Engineering Department at the University of Washington. His interests are at the intersection of social computing and human-centered machine learning. He is motivated by the observation that key stakeholders are increasingly at risk of agency loss from black-boxed but powerful technologies in sociotechnical systems. As such, his research strives to embed the reclamation of stakeholder agency as a vital and meaningful pillar of these systems. His work is supported by a 2022 Herbold Fellowship in data science and computation. Prior to UW, he graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in computer science and a minor in visual arts in 2021, where he was affiliated with the Center for Information Technology Policy and worked on tools to democratize web advertisement research at scale.
